What to expect...
Starting a blog is tricky. Not just all the tech stuff (platforms, handles!) but the internal questions. Who am I? What will it be? Here's what to expect in the days to come...

As I’ve thought about starting a blog over many months, there have definitely been some external obstacles - Which platform to use? How to fit writing in as a regular habit into my life? What to call it?
But honestly the biggest obstacles have been internal. As I’ve looked around at other writers and bloggers, rather than inspiring me I’ve felt an increasing weight of unrealistic expectations. It’s felt heavy and paralysing (yes, perfectionism, you can be a real drag!).
So here are some things I’ll keep in mind as I write, and which you can expect as you join me on this little adventure…
Bite-sized
My life is pretty busy, and I don’t have time for lengthy blogs. Who has time to read them anyway? So I’ll aim for a length that you can easily consume in one sitting.
Not a theological treatise
While I’m theologically trained, you won’t get detailed theological analysis with footnotes and sources. This will be informal and punchy and focused on ministry practice. I’ll be taking the best of what the world has to offer, plundering the Egyptians, for the benefit of gospel work.
The cutting room floor
In my day job as a consultant with Reach Australia, I’m regularly digging into new content about leadership and healthy teams. And often there’s stuff left over that doesn’t get used. Here I’ll pick up those ideas and give them space to grow.
Flying kites
My Working Geniuses are invention and discernment. So there’s lots of identifying problems, innovation and problem solving happening in my brain all the time. It’s pretty busy up there! I’ll fly lots of proverbial kites here - some of them will fly, others will crash.

A conversation
I think ideas get better in conversation. Everyone has a different perspective to bring to the table, and in the process we sharpen one other. Let’s start some conversations about a whole range of topics, and see what happens. But, being honest, I also have a pretty thin skin. So let’s play nice here. Let’s be respectful, and just, well, kind to each other.
